Norwich Climbing and Mountaineering Club is a small but active club, participating in Rock Climbing, Mountaineering, and Hillwalking around Britain and Europe (mainly).

We are always welcoming new members so please get in touch!

Welcome to Norwich Climbing and Mountaineering Club

We are a friendly group of climbers with wide ranging ability and experience. On Monday and Thursday evenings from 8pm you can find us at the indoor climbing wall at the UEA. You can also find us on the first Thursday of the month in the Black Horse pub on Earlham Road after our UEA climb (about 10pm-ish).

During the year we organise about 6 trips away – past trips have included Wales (both north and south), Dorset, Yorkshire, the Lakes and many more.

Most weekends during the summer you will find someone planning a trip on a more informal basis – usually to various locations in the Peaks (both limestone and gritstone).

As a club we are involved in all types of climbing, trad, bouldering and sports climbing.

To be a member you have to be over 18 years old. Temporary membership costs £10 and lasts at least 6 months. If you like us and we like you, full membership costs £20 per year. For your money you get BMC club membership, third party liability insurance, use of the club equipment – see list, and the benefit of climbing with enthusiastic and experienced climbers (not everyone is both!!!)

If you want to get involved or just know more contact us.
